With storm season at its peak, many plants are at risk from flooding and may suffer damage from hurricanes and other major storms. During these events, rotating equipment may be submerged or exposed to significant water ingression which may cause significant damage to mechanical systems, but the damage may be mitigated by thoroughly inspecting and servicing equipment in a timely fashion.
